Texas Police Officer Arrest for stealing marijuana

FT Worth Police officer Wesley Lamb was arrested for marijuana related charges.

A local resident called in a tip that Lamb was smoking marijuana in uniform. An investigation and undercover sting or was triggered resulting in the arrest. Monday, and Officer Wesley Lamb was arrested 48 hours later.

An arrest warrant affidavit states that on Tuesday, April 27, Officer Lamb responded to a call from a Fort Worth citizen who found 86-grams of pot and wanted to turn it in to police. The "concerned citizen" was actually an undercover officer.

The report says Lamb was observed throughout his shift and at no time made a police report on the confiscated pot and never went to the property room. After Lamb's shifted ended he allegedly moved his personal belongings, and the pot, into his personal vehicle. He was arrested before leaving police station property.

Calaveras Cannabis supports the right of all residents to smoke marijuana and that includes police officers. We cannot support officer Lamb in his abuse of position with theft. I would guess that Lamb is otherwise a good guy and prohibition has caused the ruining of yet another life. In Fort Worth, like make cities, you can be a drunk or prescription drug addict. Just don't smoke marijuana.
